Meh, I dunno. If maybe they made all the white pieces the same color as the chrome DVD tray then maybe it would look decent when put on a premium system. But still kinda looks crappy...

why dont they show u the back of it, and the black IR receiver has gold paint on the edges as if it has been spray painted rather uncarefully, i dont think the IR is shiny, ive always seen IRDA Receivers being a matt black.
but i may be wrong, im watchin this item to see what happens and keeping an eye on his feedback and stuff..we will see

he has a few flaws in the gold that looks like it isn't real.

also if i am no mistaken, if you look at the pick wheree you aer looking down on it while it's leaning up againgst the glass.through one of the holes you see one of the tabs that hold th efaceplate onto the 360.

it's white. you people look and confirm it.

Well, the first thing we need to see is a scale with this on it

First of all: Since he claims that this is "solid gold", that means that he was able to magically create an exact copy of the face plate while using gold (which...is nearly impossible).

Just ask yourself this: How hard is it to make an exact replica of the 360's faceplate including evey single hole so that it will fit exactly as it is supposed. The 360 faceplates can not simply be manufactured by any person, they would require acess to some pretty heavy equipment. You can't just simply make a mold of the faceplate..as this is "solid gold".

I can't really explain it correctly, but I think it is just spray-painted gold..simply stated

The guy who made this is seriously non-aware of anything called market strategy. If he planed correctly, he would have priced the item at a lower starting bid, but at 36,000$..that is more than the highest ammount paid for an 360 at the neediest time. No one wants such a faceplate, and no one in the right mind would buy one..it would be horrible on the 360 and would do nothing besides outweigh the power supply if it is real

if this is PURE 24k gold, then it SHOULD be VERY easy to bend, thus make its life less than 2 minutes . i got 3 words for the seller: stupid, stupid, and last but not least, STUPID

he is also an idiot for saying tht it is 900 g of gold.

900 g = 28.94 ounces of troy = 1.98 pounds.

what tdoes all that equal?? well i can tell you that 1 ounce of troy gold is worth over 400 dollars. so it would make that thing over 11,000 dollars.

but that is all crap b/c the face plate only weighs between 5-8 ounces. so etween 2000 to 3200 dollars worth of gold.

the guy is a con and trying to fool stupid people.

they need to yank this guy, he is what makes ebay a crap place to bid.

Alright. This is one time id have to call a fake. Why would you invest so much in something that you have a slim chance of selling? Melting down the gold and molding it would be costly and require particular supplies that not you average person has access to.

It's fake. 100% I've worked with gold and thats just not it.

However what this guy might be up to is getting someone to pay $36,000 plus for $15,000 worth of gold and thenmaking a real one.

It wouldnt be that hard to make a two part mould from an existing faceplate.
With your lovely new check for 36 grand you can buy some bullion, smelt it in a crucible
pour into your new mould. Job done.

Notice that he says approx 900 grams? You're dealing with gold you get the weight exact guestimates are not allowed.
This could just be him not knowign the weight because it's not made yet.

So, IMO fake and anyone that wastes that amount of money on something like this deserves to be ripped off.

im not saying this is real or fake, but for you 10 and 11 year olds who dont know what cast molding is, it's a smelting style to make any shape desired by pressing the object you want to copy into a type of sand, so no measurements or super-duper mold designs are required. thats just my 2 cents so discuss away

The main question for me is: If the thing is real, where the hell did he get all that gold?
