Whether or not you agree with Microsoft and Bungie's decision to turn Halo 3: ODST into a full-priced release, it's definitely resonating with a lot of Halo fans, as indicated by this earlier report.
For those who want to make sure that they get a copy on day one, Microsoft has put together a promo that lets those who pre-order at participating retailers play as the tough-as-nails series stalwart Sgt. Avery Junior Johnson in the game's multiplayer Firefight mode.
The press release didn't list down these "participating retailers", but GameStop and EB Games are offering it. I also looked through Play.com, but the Halo 3: ODST listing there didn't mention it. Same goes for Game.co.uk.
Halo 3: ODST will begin orbital drop on September 22. The game will also come with a key for the upcoming Halo: Reach beta.
