Don't worry, not your standard Live issue :D
came across these forums, did a bit of reading around and realised that they seem to contain a fair number of informed people sans fanboy bull****; a rarity, so I signed up.
Now that the buttkissing is over, I was wondering if I could pick someones brains........ if anyone could help with this it would be magic........Heres the set up:
360 -> PC via ICS. No firewall on the PC (ZA basic does not support ICS so I have to turn it off).
PC -> Internet via wireless (2wire BT2700HGV) - I have allowed the ports 88 & 3074 (udp) and 3074 (tcp) through the firewall as shown here: https://www.portforward.com/english/...x_Live_360.htm. I also tried using DMZplus mode. Both were successful.
So with this set up I can connect to live. I can chat, download demos, and play pro evo 6 online. BUT I cannot download game updates. When I go to do so the progress bar just hangs @ 0%. However, if I use a wired connection to the router the update downloads perfectly.
Ignoring the fact that Im not going to have access to the router for about a week (its in my housemates locked room and hes gone to his folks) it is VERY annoying lugging my valuable 360 around the house every time I need to update (especially as theres so much **** on my floor for me to trip over....). As you can imagine this is not ideal given both Gears and COD2 require a new update for live.
It would be very much appreciated if someone could help rectify this.
Why would updates differ from demos or live play??????? (both game and dash updates have issues - despite the fact that I have in the past been able to download them - nothing about my setup has altered.)
sorry about the length but I personally have hit a dead end:Argh:
Edit: btw I have a NAT status of open......
