Default EA details Fight Night Round 4 free DLC, includes button controls

Electronic Arts through EA Sports has announced earlier that Fight Night Round 4 (Xbox 360 and PS3) will be getting two rounds of free DLC starting next month. What's interesting here is that the second one will add an option to replace the Total Punch Control system with the usual button controls.

The first round of DLC will add a new gym, new "gameplay sliders," and new equipment. By "gameplay sliders" they mean the ability to "tun and tweak the following attributes: Counter Punch Window, Boxer Stamina, Punch Accuracy." The Xbox 360 version will include an alternate version of Sugar Ray Leonard, although no further detail has been given of what it will look like. This one's due early August.

The other one is slated for early September, and it's gonna add the option to replace the Total Punch Control with the regular button controls. Apparently, a lot of fans have been having trouble working that right stick, hence the demand for the option, as with Fight Night Round 3.

"We strongly believe that the refined Total Punch Control is the most intuitive way to throw punches in Fight Night Round 4," the game's senior producer, Dean Richards, said in a press release, "But we also want fans of the franchise to have an option."

While I'd much rather stick to working the right stick like crazy, I suppose not everyone can appreciate (or even use) the system, so with the option to go with buttons, they can enjoy the game too. It's free, anyway.
