Smile PSPVE : A Vectrex emulator for PSP v1.0.2

Hi All,

VecX emulates the Vectrex game console on systems such as Linux and Windows.
It has been written by Valavan Manohararajah.

PSP-VE is a port on PSP of one latest version of VecX.

What's new then ?

- Major speed improvements :
+ 6809 emulation
+ vector rendering
+ remove vector cash (buggy and time consuming)
- Sound emulation completly rewritten and inspired
from 8910 driver of xmame.
- The rotate 90' view is now much faster and it is used
as default render mode.
- Save state modification, it is now faster to save state
(but previously saved games are not compatible with this
new version !)
- Add .vec and .gam file extention as valid rom extention
- Add option to change color between gray and blue

How to use it ? Everything is in the README.txt file.

Thanks to Raven for the eboot icon's stuff.

Sources are included, and this package is under the GNU public licence v2, read COPYING.txt file for more information about it.

You can find it here : http://zx81.zx81.free.fr

Enjoy,

Zx.

I haven't tried this out yet and never had experience with the system but after seeing Art's post about the games being released to public domain I think I'll give it a shot.

This one's really good
I'd say it's running better than Samstag's Vecx now.
The sound definitely is the best on PSP so far.
Better than the original Vectrex's crackly sound!
Spinball is working great

Default Outstanding!

ZX-81,

I've been a big fan of the Vectrex for years. It's always been my favorite "classic" system. I was fortunate enough to work with Samstag on his original PSP port. I provided the graphics (including the intro screens, icon, instructions, interface, and PSPVecX logo) and I wrote the little ditty that played in the background.

Do you know if you'll offer suport for the overlays? I probably still have the original converted graphics somewhere for these. Many of the carts I have for my old Vectrex I got without overlays and sometimes it's cleaner to play it without them. However, it would be neat to offer the option and toggle them on or off.

Just a thought...

Others have said it, but I'll repeat - great job emulating the sound!

Take care,

TBE
