Smile PSP2600: Atari 2600 emulator for PSP v1.2.0 (cheat)

    Hi All,

For gamers who have missed previous versions, Stella is on of the best emulator of Atari 2600
game console, running on many different systems, such as Linux, Solaris, Windows,
    MacOS/X, WinCE, OS/2, GP2X.

It has been written initially by Bradford Mott, see Stella: "A multi-platform Atari 2600 VCS emulator" for details.

PSP2600 is a port on PSP of the version v2.2 of Stella. It's based on the work of Aenea.

It has been developped on linux for Firmwares 5.0-m33 and 1.5

Special thanks to Horeus for his nice icons and graphical stuff !

What's new in this version ?

    - New graphics from my good friend Horeus
(see PSP - UltimatePSP : Vivez la PSP version Ultimate)
    - New Eboot music
(see Free music downloads: PAKO - Jamendo)
    - Cheat support (but it doesn't work with all games)
    - Finally fix issue with "Home -> Exit" !
    - Add documentation for settings in help menu
    - Improve file requester with virtual keyboard to choose
sequentially rom files beginning with a given letter
    - Text editor to write your own comments on games
    - Display first comment line while browsing game files
    - Add hotkey to change flicker mode
    - Memory monitoring engine to find your own cheat code !
    - Text editor to modify the global cheat.txt file

How to use it ? Everything is in the README.txt file.

Sources are included, and this package is under the GNU public license,
read COPYING.txt file for more information about it.

    See ZX-81's web site

    Enjoy,

    Zx

    Hi,
Nice job. It fixes some of the issues I had with the last version. Fixed the UNABLE TO LOAD ROM bug that would happen after a while of loading different roms.

    BUT...

The new problem I have with this is that it doesn't save my settings. Whenever I reset the PSP and start the emu again, it resets everything. I also tried changing my settings and then choosing SAVE. I want it to start with the screen set to 1.25x and average flicker. Please let me know if there is a way to fix this.

    Thanks!

PS: PLEASE work on PSPVectrex with overlay support if you get some free time. It really needs overlays to make it playable. Thanks! :)

Settings are saved only for the current game. If you want to set "default" settings then you have to start the emu, choose your settings and save the settings for the default game (pitfall). Then when you will load another game for which you didn't specify any settings, the default settings would applied.

Ahh.. I should have known that. :P I'll give it a try. To be honest I always change the default roms to the original games launched with the consoles.
(at least here in the US anyway)
I change Atari 2600 <to> Combat and the Colecovision emu rom default <to> Donkey Kong.

I'm glad the Vectrex is still on your list. Is there anything I can do to help? I can gather all the best versions of the overlays and resize them to 480x272. Just let me know! :)

Vectrex emu is really too slow, i should port another one or rewrite some part of the original one before adding anything more ... (or it will be just unplayable)

Yes, you should. :P Seriously though, I know a lot of people would love to get a good working Vectrex emu on the PSP. Please don't give up on it.

If you could add sound to PSPVecX, that would be a good option. I'm not sure if that's what slows down the emulation so much though. Pspvecx_1[1].51 appears to also have the source code and overlays included.

Pitfall II - Lost Caverns runs real slow no mater what settings I use. Is this an old issue with Stella v2.2 or do I need to find a different bin file?
