Smile PSPColem: A ColecoVision Emulator for PSP v1.2.1 (green)

    Hi All,

Here is a new version of PSPColem the Colecovision Emulator for PSP.

For those who haven't seen previous versions, ColEm is one of the best emulator
of the ColecoVision videogame system written by Marat Fayzullin.
It's running on FreeBSD, HP-UX, SunOS, Solaris, Linux, and other Unix systems.

PSPColem is a port to PSP of Colem (Unix version 1.0).

    What's new in version 1.2.1 :

    - Improve emulation speed (now 60 fps at 133 Mhz !)
    - Default speed is now 133 Mhz for green emulation :)
(but you may increase the psp clock to 222Mhz for better performance)
    - New background graphics
    - Finally fix issue with "Home -> Exit" & sleep mode !
    - Text editor to write your own comments on games
    - Display first comment line while browsing game files
    - Text editor to modify the global cheat.txt file
    - Auto fire support for second joystick
    - Bug fix in unzip rom function
(unable to open more than 10 zipped files)
    - Bug fix in z80 emulation
(game such as moon patrol were buggy)

How to use it ? Everything is in the README.txt file.

Sources are included, and this package is under the GNU public license,
read COPYING.txt file for more information about it.

    Enjoy, Zx.

Glad to see the zip bug fix! :)

The first time I tried this it works fine, but when I tried it a second time from a freshly booted PSP (phat) the roms start and only show a black screen. I know they are working because I can hear the sounds, but no video shows. I tried deleting the dir and starting again and the same thing. I am using an original PSP with 5.00 M33-6.

I am using the newest Atari 2600 emu (psp2600v1.2.0fw5x) and that plays fine. I'd rather stick with the 5.x versions of your emus so I don't have to worry about 2 dirs for each emu and to make a smooth transition if I choose to start using my slim PSP.

Please let me know if anyone has an idea.

it happens to me sometimes. The only workarround i know is to change the default settings to have a "normal" size render mode, save settings and restart the emu ...

I don't know.. I tried all of that and it still just gives me a blank screen.
I reverted to using the 1.5 kernel version and that is working. If you release a new version I'll give it a whirl. :)

Thanks again for working on all of these.
I love being able to have all this gaming history on my PSP.

Oh.. Another system that currently isn't emulated on the PSP is the Magnavox Odyssey, or Odyssey2. There was an older PSP emu, but it stopped working in the M33 fw a few years ago. It would be really cool to have these emulated since the Odyssey, is after all, the world's first video game console! It needs some respect. :)

i've encountered the same issue sometimes. You may try to activate vsync options in settings menu and see if it works better.

Even using fw15 addon or 15 stuff from DA for PSP slim ?

Yeah, I can't get that Odyssey emu to work on anything older than M33 4.01.
