[Release] PSPColem: A ColecoVision Emulator for PSP v1.0.1

Hi All,

ColEm is one of the best emulator of the ColecoVision videogame system written by Marat Fayzullin.
It's running on FreeBSD, HP-UX, SunOS, Solaris, Linux, and other Unix systems.

There are also ports to MacOS, MSDOS, Windows, OS/2, PocketPC and other
systems. See http://fms.komkon.org/ColEm/ for further informations.

I've sucessfully modified, and port the source code of the Unix version 1.0 of ColEm.
It's now working fine on PSP !

It has been developped on linux for Firmware 2.5 using the great GTA eloader (0.97) from
http://www.fanjita.org/, but it should work properly on other firmwares. I've integrated a 1.5FW
binary version (kxploit).

How to use it ? Everything is in the README.txt file.

It's a first beta release and work still remain (sound support, save state etc ...)

Sources are included, and this package is under the GNU public licence, read COPYING.txt file for more
information about it.

on the frontpage of pspupdates, there is the emulator section.
and it doesnt say anything about a sam coupé emulator.
and before they can put it on the list, you release an emulator for another system!

I'm kinda getting used to aw8 a new emulator by ZX-81 for a system I've never heard of by everytime I check the forum.

Sadly this does not work on 2.0! I tried it with eloader 95 and 97 have'nt tried it though GTA yet! (take to long to load just to see if something works)
I got excited I played colecoVision when I was a kid so hopfully you can get this running on 2.0 Thank You.

There are no reason it doesn't work on 2.0 ... But what happens exactly ? You can launch it ? It freeze with a dark screen ? You can see the first messages (now loading ...) ?

When you use the tiff eloader it just goes to a black screen, memory lite stays on and then turns off!
It does run through GTA and it run really fast !

BTW I dont know if you know but it doesnt run any Atari games. and if it does how do I load them?

Yes, you can use the frame skip option to slow down the CPU (it displays more frame than needed, and it then slow down the emulator )

I really don't know. This emu can load what the original ColEm can load . I've used only few roms for testing purposes, but i'v no idea of which kind of rom this emu can load.

Works just fine on 2.6! The zip even has a file for the particular firmware that you are using (1.5 or 2.0+).

On 2.0 it run's through GTA yea it that kinda sucks but if you want to play thats what you have to do for now until its fixed and the games run really fast I mean really fast I even tried to turn the frame skip down and it still runs like the game is on meth other then what was mentioned above this thing is awsome!
it would be nice to have the speed issue fixed and to be able to play it without GTA on 2.0 (I hate loading GTA to play homebrew) Thats why I stayed at 2.0

Another colecovision emu has been released from fredjmh123 emucol with sound support and no speed issue

Hey ZX-81 I just tried that other one keep working on yours!
If you fix speed, sound and the ability to load on 2.0 without gta you will have the superior emulator the other one you cant get full screen. don't get discouraged because someone else released one it has it's flaws. I will even give you feedback on which Roms work and which don't like pit fall does not work on either emulators. Sound on the other emulator is below par does not work for all game like montezuma's revenge one of my favorite games!

BTW I would'nt worry about sound yet game play is much more important then sound at the moment!

Thanks :mrgreen: but if i had known someone was already working on this port, i would have spend time on another one. i havent so much spare time, and we don't need two versions of each emu lol ...
