Great! Thanks! I've been waiting for a good Atari 800/XL/XE Emulator, I've been using Aenea's (who seems to have disappeared...) A800 Emu until now. Montezuma's Revenge 48K (see the snapshot with the article) is indeed a great old Atari 800 classic, can't wait to play it again!)

You have to load them using the original atari800 emulator menu (the yellow "Atari800 menu" option in the emulator window ). Then select "Cartridge management" then "Insert cartridge" and choose your disk image file (using the file requester stuff), then choose the cartridge type corresponding to your ROM and go back to the emulator using LTrigger. It should then reboot, and start your game

This is very nice. zx-81, have you ever thought of adding a WiFi keyboard to your emulator.
Let me elaborate a bit on this WiFi keyboard idea. For all these emulators you make, they all use the danzeff keyboard which is okay if you don't have a real keyboard. I'm thinking of using my PC keyboard, whatever I type on the PC will get interpreted by the emulator as the native key input. This can be done by having an application on Windows reading all keyboard input. It will then send these keys via WiFi (TCP/IP) to a PSP application which will then pass it to the emulator (similar to the way danzeff is working). Pls let me know what you think. I know all these EMUs have Windows version, but it would be easier to use a real keyboard to load/start programs/roms/whatever in the emu. Then after the game has started, I can still carry the PSP around the house and play with it. Well, if you're not interested in making it, I guess I'll implement it then. lol

I've not tested it on 2.0, but it should work. Did you copy properly the content of the fw2.0/pspatari to your /psp/game/pspatari directory ? Does the emulator run or not ? Does it fail when you try to load a rom ?

OK, everything is set where it's supposed to be, when loading the following text shows up, PSP Atari v1.0.2: Atari800..... Please Wait now loading !. Then the text suddenly becomes big in the screen (as if a bug in windows when playing old DOS games) and freezes there.
No, the emu doesn't even load, it freezes in "loading" screen (described above) What can I do? Last edited by gottenx; 06-18-2006 at 09:48 AM.. |

The last try, could be to remove completly the pspatari folder on your psp, and retry to unzip it one more time ... may be some files/roms are corrupted ?

zx-81, I noticed an empty folder called scr and a folder in the zip file called src. I don't know if it's the right way, but I copied the content of src from the zip file to the scr folder and now the emu works. Let me know anyway if there is another problem or if it's that what is correct to have it working.

The src directory contains the source code of the emulator (if you want to re-build it by your own ). The scr directory contains the screenshot you can do inside the emulator ...Quote:

Back with a solution. It seems the problem in 2.0 is to start the emulator withou changing the CPU speed. I restarted my PSP and when trying toload the emulator didn't work again, so I reset once more and didn't touch the CPU speed in the eloader. It works fine now.
Thanx for the support anyway, at least we have found the way to make it work!. Sweet, I am now enjoyoing Montezuma! Won't sleep tonight playing the game. |

Hi, does this play .EXE games?
I have several games for my Atari800Win emulator that are ".exe" files like Pitfall 2, Pitstop, BC"s Quest For Tires, Jungle Hunt But they are all executables and your readme doesnt say anything about playing those. Thanks for the info! |

Alrighty, this is weird.
When trying some ROMs that end in .bin and .a52, using the Original menu thing, I get a screen with a green background and says: Self Test --------------- Memory Audio-Visual Keyboard All Tests -------------- Select, Start or Reset If I let it start, it just flashes a whole bunch of squares across my screen and it doesn't look like it's doing much..... |
